Parents for the Protection of Girls statement on the attempt to repeal Parental Notice of Abortion

Parents for the Protection of Girls, a coalition opposed to the repeal of Illinois’ Parental Notice of Abortion Law, released this statement following the end of the Illinois General Assembly legislative session that ran through May 2021:

“We are pleased that the proposed attempt to repeal Illinois’ Parental Notice of Abortion Law never made it to a vote. An overwhelming majority of Illinois voters oppose the repeal of parental notification as this commonsense law protects minor girls from a number of dangers. Parental notification also protects the basic right of parents to be involved in their minor daughters' health care. We welcome those interested in more information on this law and the protections that it provides to visit saveparentalnotification.com.”
